In 2009 the company acquired Global Wind Service A/S (GWS), which is one of the key suppliers of trained personnel for installation, commissioning, repair, supervision, service and maintenance of wind turbines.
In February 2010 the company placed an order with the Lamprell shipyard for two self-elevating installation vessels for delivery in 2012.
In February 2010 Windcarrier Denmark put the service vessel Wind Crew 1 into operation.
In February 2011 the company placed an order with Båtservice Mandal AS (Norway) for the delivery of four new crew boats within the winter season of 2011. The vessels are custom designed to transport service technicians, parts and tools to and from offshore wind turbines.
