The process

Careful choice of partners ensures success in any project. Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has chosen a winning team for the Tern jack-up vessels. In each stage, from design to construction, to successful operation, Windcarrier has chosen the most experienced experts to make the Terns the most reliable and efficient vessels for the job.

Brave Tern and Bold Tern are the proud results of teamwork by experts in the fields of offshore wind park construction, jack-up vessel design and ship-building, construction supervision, maritime management and offshore marine operations.

The Tern sister ships are designed by Gusto MSC, world-renowned naval architects of jack-up vessels both for oil and gas but also delivered to the international offshore wind construction fleet. Earlier Gusto MSC designs have proven themselves best-in-class.

Fred. Olsen has teamed up with Voith Schneider by outfitting the Terns with an excellent propulsion package for efficient transport and excellent maneuverability.

Lamprell plc, now in progress building the Terns, has an excellent record in delivering quality jack-up vessels on time, on budget with high quality and standards for construction. Construction quality is further ensured by our Fred. Olsen site team at Lamprell that encompasses over 150 years of experience with ship design, construction and ship operation.

Fred. Olsen Marine Services, coordinates the daily management of the entire Fred. Olsen fleet including the Tern vessels. With a hands-on and proactive maintenance plan, safety-conscious culture and an excellent up-time record, Fred. Olsen Marine Services will ensure safety and reliable ship operations.

Early recruitment of ship officers with jack-up and/or offshore wind turbine construction experience adds quality of delivery and optimum familiarization.
