Service vessels

Wind Crew 1 has proven its performance by transferring several thousand service engineers to and from offshore wind turbines. The vessel performs outstandingly, particularly in regard to excellent seakeeping while in transit, as well as exceptional transfer capabilities to wind turbine foundations.

The vessel was acquired by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier in 2009 when she underwent an extensive refit to ensure optimum utility for the offshore wind industry. Her previous service had been as a passenger and ambulance vessel in rough Norwegian waters. Wind Crew 1 can carry up to 12 service engineers in a spacious passenger lounge equipped with working desks and TV/video facilities. The vessel is equipped with a special designed bow fender, which in combination with the powerful main engines, gives her exceptional offshore transfer capabilities.
